Nicholas Len is a professional aviator and instructor with nearly two decades of high-performance, real-world flight experience spanning both military and general aviation.
He began his flying career as a Naval Aviator, flying all frontline variants of the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet — including the A, C, and E models. During his military tenure, Nicholas completed two combat deployments to the Middle East, operating from U.S. Navy aircraft carriers in some of the most complex and demanding airspace in the world. His missions included precision strike, close air support, and carrier-based combat readiness across a variety of high-stakes environments.
Nicholas was selected to serve as an instructor pilot with the Royal Air Force, where he flew and instructed in the Eurofighter Typhoon. There, he worked alongside UK and NATO partner nations to train the next generation of fighter pilots in advanced air combat maneuvering, weapons employment, and energy management — using the same EM diagram principles that now form the foundation of AeroEdge.
After leaving the military, Nicholas transitioned to general aviation instruction and A&P maintenance, bringing with him a passion for making complex flight concepts more accessible to GA pilots and flight instructors. Today, he is a CFI, CFII, MEI, AGI, IGI, and A&P, instructing at Charleston Southern University’s Aeronautics Program, where he teaches everything from private pilot fundamentals to stall/spin recovery and multiengine energy management, while helping to maintain the school’s fleet of 15 aircraft.
Nicholas created AeroEdge to bring the power of Energy Maneuverability diagrams — once reserved for fighter pilots — to general aviation. His goal is simple: to give CFIs, students, and builders a better way to see, teach, and master the flight envelope.
